Advance Reservation for Basic Vaccination with Sky Covione Begins on 1st September

The government announced that advance reservation for vaccination with Sky Covione Multiple Injection (Sky Covione) vaccine would be open on the government website from 00:00, 1st Sep (Thu), as the inoculation obtained lot release approval on 26th August.

Sky Covione vaccine is the first-ever Korean COVID-19 vaccine, developed by SK bioscience. It is manufactured in a gene recombination method, which allows easy storage (in 2-8℃) and is utilized for production of various vaccines.

Per approval of Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, this Korean inoculation wil be used for basic (1st and 2nd) immunization for unvaccinated adults (age 18 or above). Shots via advance reservation will be available from 13th September, while community health centers and some consigned medical institutions will provide same day vaccinations from 5th September.

“As Sky Covione vaccine is produced in a gene combination method verified by a host of inoculations, it is requested that Korean people who have yet to take COVID-19 immnuization, for concern over possible abnormal reactions to mRNA vaccines, actively participate in this vaccination scheme.”, the government stated.
