Korea-Africa Discuss Cooperation on Healthcare

 

- 2nd Vice Minister Park Minsoo meets with Director General of the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention -

 

 

2nd Vice Minister Park Minsoo of the Ministry of Health and Welfare met with Director General Jean Kaseya of the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention on November 3 (Friday) to discuss ways of cooperation in the area of healthcare between Korea and Africa.

 

The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention requested the meeting to consult on methods of promoting cooperation between Korea and Africa in healthcare.

 

Director General Kaseya introduced Africa’s healthcare-related tasks, and underscored the importance of continuous exchange and cooperation.

 

2nd Vice Minister Park Minsoo introduced the cooperation between Korea and Africa in healthcare that has taken place so far, including Korea’s provision of official development assistance (ODA) and support for training of the global healthcare workforce.

 

Vice Minister Park also highlighted Korea’s commitment to contribute to improving the infectious disease response capability of low and middle-income countries, saying, “I hope that today's meeting will lead to cooperation between Korea and Africa in a wide range of healthcare fields.” ///
