AI Pharma Korea Conference Convened

 

  • ‘JUMP UP to the advent of the great leap forward in AI-driven new drug development’: seeking ways to cooperate with industry, academia, and research institutes in AI-driven new drug development
  • Presentation of the winners of the 2023 New Drug Development Artificial Intelligence Contest

 

 

The Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW, Minister Cho, KyooHong), the Korea Health Industry Development Institute (President Cha, SoonDo), and the Korea Pharmaceutical and Bio-Pharma Manufacturers Association (Chairman Yunhong Noh) recently announced that they had held the “AI Pharma Korea Conference’’ at the Mondrian Hotel in Itaewon, on November 2 (Thursday).

 

The conference was organized to look at the present and future of AI-driven new drug development and discuss the direction of the bio-pharmaceutical industry under the theme of ‘JUMP UP to the advent of AI-driven new drug development.’

 

Deputy Minister for Healthcare Policy Jun Byung Wang of the MOHW, attended the event, at which congratulatory remarks were made, and awards* were presented to the winners of the AI Drug Discovery & Development Challenge “Jump AI 2023”(jointly hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Ministry of Science and ICT), which started in August and lasted for about 50 days.

Deputy Minister for Healthcare Policy Jun Byung Wang of the MOHW declared, “This conference has provided us with an excellent opportunity to share the result of the latest AI-driven new drug development research and to bring together representatives from industry, academia, and research to seek ways to promote cooperation.” He went on to say “We plan to strengthen the support, such as related R&D activities and improvements of the data utilization system, in order to help the domestic AI-driven new drug development ecosystem to advance in leaps and bounds.” ///
