the 76th World Health Assembly (May 21th~30th)

leads the Korean delegation to promote global cooperation in healthcare -
The Ministry of Health and Welfare (Minister Cho, KyooHong) announced that the Korean delegation led by the chief delegate Youngmee Jee, Commissioner of Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA), is attending the 76th World Health Assembly, hosted by the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva, Switzerland from May 21 (Sunday) to May 30 (Tuesday).
Under the theme, “WHO at 75: Saving lives, driving health for all”, the assembly will begin with the keynote speech by Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization, which will be followed by discussions among chief delegates of the member countries.
Commissioner Jee will hold bilateral meetings with the Director-General of WHO and representatives of Australia, China, and other major countries during the assembly, and share opinions on a range of agenda including ▲ preparedness for and response to health emergencies, ▲ global strategies on infection prevention and control, ▲ operation of the Global Biomanufacturing Workforce Training Hub, and ▲ policy coordination in healthcare(including MOUs), to renew unwavering partnerships.
The Korean delegation will participate in a detailed meeting, explain Korea’s stance, and exchange ideas with other countries on ▲ global architecture for health emergency preparedness, ▲ universal health coverage, ▲ women’s, children’s, and adolescents’ health, ▲ substandard and falsified medical products, and ▲ programme budget 2024-2025.
Commissioner Jee said, “I am pleased to lead the Korean delegation to the World Health Assembly marking its 75th year.” She added, “As the chief delegate, I will dedicate myself to further raise Korea’s profile as a global leader in healthcare, lead an international health agenda, and highlight Korea’s benchmark cases during the event.” ///
