Title : Team Coordinator, Country Analysis and Support Grade : P.6 Official station (country) : Geneva (Switzerland) Organizational Location/Unit : External Relations and Governing Bodies (EGB) External Cooperation and Partnerships (ECP) Liaison Office for Support to WHO Country Offices (LSC) Objectives of the programme : To facilitate policy development with regard to WHO technical support to countries. To support WHO country offices and regional offices in the promotion and implementing of functions of global relevance at country level. To improve coordination between organizational levels in order to enhance the capacity of WHO country offices to support and strengthen national capacity for establishing and implementing national health policies according to globally agreed commitments, norms and standards. The successful candidate will : - Develop, in coordination with regional offices, concepts, methodologies and systems to improve the effectiveness of WHO country offices, support their implementation and monitor and evaluate changes, taking into account the UN reform process and its consequences on WHO\''s role at country level. - Provide support to WHO country office work through the development of mechanisms to facilitate flow of information between WHO country offices and HQ. - Support regional offices in the review, analysis and dissemination of innovative country initiatives, development of training material and facilitation of interregional activities. Qualifications Required : Education and Skills : Medical or scientific degree from a recognized university with post-graduate qualifications in Public Health. Extensive knowledge of the Organisation; ability to (1) work as a team member (2) communicate effectively and easily (3) work effectively with multidisciplinary staff (4) organize and manage multidisciplinary efforts (5) train staff at all levels. Experience : Extensive experience in health development programmes, at a decision-making level; at least 10 years\'' experience in WHO at country and regional and/or headquarters levels is essential. Languages : Excellent knowledge of English or French and a good working knowledge of the other; working knowledge of Spanish would be an asset. Annual salary (net of tax) : US$ 72 407 at single rate and US$ 78 334 with primary dependants. Post Adjustment: 16.% of the above figures. This percentage is to be considered as indicative since variations may occur each month either upwards or downwards due to currency exchange rate fluctuations or inflation.
